AMI had the pleasure of partnering with the UgoSunday Foundation, located in Houston, TX, to host a reusable pad training workshop to young girls, mothers, nurses, and doctors on Saturday, October 11, 2025.

We began the day with breakfast, followed by a discussion on menstrual hygiene, sexual health, and discussing the changes in menstrual awareness, including the limited resources that were available to our mothers, grandmothers, and elders when they grew up with their period in Nigeria and in the US.

By the afternoon, we set up stations, training up to 25 girls and women on sewing their own reusable pad. This training will be carried on by the foundation as the nurses and doctors who trained with us this day will be traveling to Nigeria to conduct community health work, training women in the village and urban areas on how to sew their own pads.
